Weight Watchers and Dance It Up!

The Matthews Weight Watchers chapter is hosting a Mind, Body, Spirit Day on Saturday, July 29 and Dance It Up is going to represent! The event is going to feature massage therapists, essential oils reps, and other great resources to help further the health and wellness of our community! If you are interested in joining us at a table for this event, email us! We’d love to have you.

Mind, Body, Spirit Day is July 29 at 12:30pm and all are welcome to come check out the booths. Dance It Up will be holding a raffle of a free 5-class pass so stop by to put your name in the running!


Subbing for The JAM: CLT

The JAM: CLT’s Erica Butler is getting married in May and we’re helping out while she’s on her honeymoon!

The week of May 8, I’ll be teaching 5 (FIVE!!) times and I would love to see your faces there with me. You can find me on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (subbing the Burnout for The Jam: CLT), and TWICE on Thursday. So let’s hang out that week; bring your dancing shoes and something to tie your hair.

AIDS WALK Charlotte Warm Up

Join us on Saturday, May 6 in lieu of our regular Saturday class to warm up our neighbors who gather to walk in support of our community. “AIDS WALK Charlotte is a visual representation of the Charlotte region’s commitment to caring for our neighbors in need and slowing the spread of this devastating disease” and we are proud to be a part of this momentous event.

Introducing Jump Start at the Barn


What are you doing Thursday morning?

Wednesday is Hump Day, Friday is your favorite day: now you have something to look forward to on Thursdays! Dance It Up is excited to introduce Jump Start at the Barn–a 6am, 45-minute class on Thursday mornings to get you ready for your day! Starting next month, Dance It Up will be offering a $10 drop-in morning class every Thursday. Jump Start your Thursday with us!

You asked and we delivered! Jump Start at the Barn is in collaboration with Pure Pizza on Central Avenue. It will be an early morning class on Thursdays that lasts 45 minutes starting November 9, 2016.

Thursdays, 6am

*Parking at the Barn is found in front of the building and on Nandina St.

**There are no restrooms at the Barn as the restaurant will not be open.

With the infinite world of social media taking on new life under the category of FITNESS, you’ll notice lots of trends. Take Instagram for example; search work out, fitness, weights, dance, and you’ll find photos of people who are on the train.

Take a closer look and you’ll notice that many of those photos are of women who look a little too good to be in the gym. That’s not to say that they aren’t cute or that they shouldn’t be in the gym. But working out isn’t about being put together. As fun as it is to scroll through pages of women looking cute and made up at the gym, you know what’s real pretty? Getting sweaty and nasty and working hard to feel good. Working out is about more than having your make up on or your hair on fleek; the Real Pretty campaign is all about supporting those of us who come in all shapes, sizes, and walks of life.
